not as interesting of a release as fermi but whatever... i'm bored

they did some stupid shit with the naming scheme so the 6870 is actually a replacement for the 5770. the 58xx replacements will be 69xx

5770/5750s are being rebranded as 6770/6750... i think...

prices should be around ~$150 for the 6850 and ~$200 for the 6870

nvidia are dropping prices on the 1gb 460 and 470 cards this week. I'm guessing $180/$220.

both cards seem to be a bit faster than a 460 1gb and the 6870 seems to be a bit faster than a GTX 470 which is pretty surprising.

prices are starting to look normal again

6950 is $300, 6970 is $370

6970 competes with the 570. they are keeping the 5970 the 'fastest card' i'm guessing until nvidia comes out with a dual gpu fermi card, then I imagine the 6990 will be released sometime around then

5870s are dropping a bit in price. I'm surprised 480s haven't dropped much in price since they cost more than the 570s which are a more efficient 480.
